How to change video speed in 4 steps
- Open your video and select the clip. To change only part of it, split the clip at the start and end of that section first.
- Pick a constant speed. In the Clip tab choose 0.25×, 0.5×, 1×, 1.5×, 2× or 3×.
- Or use a speed curve. Choose a preset such as Montage, Hero or Bullet, or Custom, and drag the curve's points between 0.1× and 10×.
- Preview and export. Press ▶ Preview clip, then export.

Frequently asked questions
How do I make smooth slow motion?
Slow motion is smoothest with footage recorded at a high frame rate, such as 60 or 120 fps. The editor slows video by repeating frames, so 30 fps footage looks choppy below about half speed.
What is a speed ramp?
A gradual change of speed within one clip — for example normal speed easing into slow motion at the key moment and back again. Choose a preset or draw your own curve.
What happens to the sound?
Sound is kept at moderate speeds, but most browsers mute a clip's own audio at very high or very low speeds. For sped-up or slowed sections, lower the clip volume and add music.
Can I speed up only part of a video?
Yes. Split the clip around the section you want to change, then set the speed of that piece.
How fast can I go?
Up to 3× with the speed buttons and up to 10× with a speed curve. For very long time-lapses, your phone's time-lapse mode gives the smoothest result.
